A new year means new excitement for Autumnwood residents as Sanford, North Carolina, as there are several openings and opportunities coming online that everyone can enjoy. First, let’s look at some recent developments you may overlooked.
Jeffrey’s Kitchen at 116 E. Main St. held its grand opening on Nov. 17. The restaurant offers Latin American cuisine combined with familiar Southern favorites.
An Aldi grocery store opened on Nov. 9 at 2903 S. Horner Blvd. The retail chain, which now covers nearly two thirds of the United States, sells a range of grocery items, including produce, meat and dairy, at discount prices.
Now, here’s what to expect to see over the next 12 months:
Hugger Mugger Brewing Company is set to open soon at 229 Wicker St. The craft brewery and tasting room is already offering T-shirts for sale to prospective customers.
Also on tap (pardon the pun!) is Camelback Brewing Company, which will be located in the Spring Lane Galleria shopping center in west Sanford and open by the summer of 2018. It will have eight beers on tap plus a kitchen.
FirstHealth of the Carolinas plans a multi-specialty medical office building and physical fitness center to open at a 23-acre campus off U.S. 1 at 2919 Beechtree Drive in the fall of 2018.
A rumor is that the Outer Banks favorite Duck Donuts will bring a store to Sanford sometime in 2018. Customers get to make their own donuts to order here.
Pfizer is investing in $100 million in improvements and expansion to make a gene therapy plant at 4300 Oak Park Road. These efforts will generate 40 new jobs. The time when the plant will be open is uncertain at this point.
