One of the great benefits of living in Sanford is accessibility. You have the Triad and the Triangle right in your backyard, plus a cute Southern town to call home! This is especially beneficial when the holidays roll around, and the 4th of July is no exception. Celebrate our nation’s birthday this year and in years to come with these suggestions for the whole family.
Ammons Farm Fireworks – Sanford, July 6th
In Sanford, there’s a big field near Sanford Health and Rehab – 2702 Farrell Road to be exact. This is Ammons Farm, and their yearly fireworks show draws thousands! With the 4th on a Thursday in 2019, Ammons Farm has bumped the event to the 6th. There are food and ice cream trucks and plenty of space to stretch out on the grass with a blanket or bring chairs. Admission is free, but donations to the Lee Christian Booster Club are accepted at the gate.

Festival for the Eno – Durham, July 4th and 6th
The Eno River is one of the most beloved waterways in the Triangle, and the festival bearing its name has been running since 1980. Described by the New York Times as a “backyard barbecue for the creative class,” the festival blends music, Southern culture, food, and outdoor fun into a celebration everyone looks forward to.
